Yadadri: Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) took out a huge rally here on Wednesday protesting against the alleged alienation of 33 Yadadri temple choultries. They expressed dismay that there was no security for the temple properties. The rally, which started near the temple steps, culminated at the Village Revenue Office. The VHP leaders submitted a representation to the VRO.
In the representation, they demanded survey of the choultries and prevent registration in the name of private persons. Yadadri VHP president Mallikarjun and leader Rachha Srinivas, who led the rally, expressed their ire at the indifferent attitude of the Endowments department officials, besides Temple Executive Officer Geeta Reddy towards the issue despite submission of memoranda on the alleged encroachment. The VHP leaders claimed that some choultries located downhill have been registered in the name of private persons. Yet the officials concerned failed to take preventive action.
