Bhongir: Joint Collector Ravi Naik directed the officials concerned to prepare maps of existing and proposed gram panchayaths with survey numbers. The Joint Collector conducted a meeting on new gram panchayats with MPDOs, Tahsildars, Panchayat Secretaries of nearest mandals and other officials at Collectorate meeting hall in Bhongir on Wednesday.

The Joint Collector directed the officials concerned to prepare maps of the proposed 95 gram panchayats along with existing 334 panchayats in the district with survey numbers.

He instructed the officials concerned to make sure of survey numbers, water bodies and seek opinions of peoples’ representatives during the carving of new gram panchayats.

He advised the surveyors and Panchayat secretaries to work together to prepare error-free maps of gram panchayats. There should not be any conflict while deciding the assets and resources of the respective gram panchayats during the reorganisation process, he said, instructing the officials to prepare the maps within two days in order to send to the government after the consent of District Collector. Trainee Collector Priyanka, District Revenue Officer Mahender Reddy, District Panchayat Officer Biksham and line department officials attended the meeting.
