Farmers told to adopt modern techniques to get better yield
An interaction programme between farmers and scientists was held here at DDAFTC conference hall under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana Scheme (PMKSY) here in Khammam on Friday. The farmers from different parts of the district along with scientists from various agricultural research centres participated in the interaction programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the scientists advised the farmers to adopt modern methods besides using modern equipment to get maximum benefits by investing less amount of money. The farmers were also explained about different techniques to be followed for cultivating crops using less amount of water giving much importance to drip irrigation.
The scientists explained the farmers about the steps to be taken for preventing various kinds of pests and insects that affect different crops besides adoption of new hybridisation techniques in various crops to get better yield. The scientists cleared all the doubts of farmers during the session. Scientists from Regional Agriculture Research Centre and farmers attended the programme.
