Avoid use of plastic in daily life, says Kothagudem Collector

​Kothagudem: On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the district administration awareness programmes across the district on Tuesday.

In the coal town and Industrial town Kothagudem and Palvoncha and other mandals of the district, people took out rallies and conducted awareness programmes. One program was conducted in the coal town Kothagudem where the District Collector participated and addressed the people. He said due to lack of forests the temperature has been increasing day by day. He said, everyone has to do to prevent the use of plastic in his daily life.

He also asked officials to conduct awareness camps in all government and private schools to educate children about the bad impact of pollution. He also suggested to the concerned department to make huge publicity and take support of the other departments in the field level to protect the environment.

The Collector asked all the people in the district to participate in the Haritha Haram program this year. The Government is planning to plant more sapling this year in the district under the Haritha Haram programme, he added.
