Khammam: As a part of modernization and to ensure speedy justice to the victims, the State Police Department proposed to launch "Dial 100" services similar to the popular "108" services from Ugadi. The district Police selected two constables from each police station in the district as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and conducted a workshop for them at the Police Conference Hall here on Tuesday. SP AV Ranganath and Additional SP Tafsir Iqbal supervised the training programme.

Quick Reaction Teams (QRT) would be formed in each police station and would be dispatched immediately as is practised in the case of 108. The calls made to Dial 100 are received by Police Communication officer attached to DGP Command office in Hyderabad and are forwarded to Dispatch Officer.

The Call authenticity is verified and is forwarded to concerned station SPOC. Upon receiving the information, QRTs are dispatched to the incident site. The team members would visit the incident site and inform the prevailing situation to higher officials.

All the information transmitted is recorded in the computer system. CIs Vijay Kumar, Rajendra Prasad, IT Core In-charge Satyanarayana and other officials participated in the programme.
