Khammam: Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer G Veerapandian said that tribal intellectuals should strive for protecting cultural and traditional practices of indigenous people in the Country. He was speaking at a meeting arranged by the members of Adivasi Forum to celebrate ‘World Adivasi Day’ in Subham Function Hall at Bhadrachalam in the district on Thursday.

Mr Veerapandian stated that the government was implementing several schemes for the welfare and development of tribal people and ITDA was arranged to ensure effective implementation of the schemes. Adivasi Forum State president Yadaiah presided over the meeting and representatives of different tribal organisations from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala took part. Cultural programmes staged by the tribal students enthralled the audience.
