City geared up for celestial wedding

Vijayawada: The city is spruced up for the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita at various places on Friday, marking the Srirama Navami. The devotees have put up pandals at the temples and important market junctions to celebrate the wedding of the Lord. The busy Besant Road in Governorpet is decked up for the holy event. The traders have erected pandals all along the road from Eluru Road to the Gopala Reddy Road where they would be celebrating the Srirama Navami for the next nine days. The temple committee of Rama Mandir on Eluru Road has also made arrangements for the wedding. The police officials and staff have made arrangements to celebrate the Navami at Labbipet quarters. In One Town, the celestial wedding would be held at Kothagullu, which would be the main celebration. Besides this, pandals have also come up at Samarangam Chowk, Kothapet, Chittinagar, Vastralatha and other areas.
