Hyderabad : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav stressed up on maintenance of the track and other related assets round the clock to ensure safety.

He stated that the responsibility of the Section Engineers (Track) is very crucial in maintaining the track and track related assets. He was Chief Guest for inaugural session of two day seminar on “Track Management System (TMS), Stores Module held on Wednesday at Principal Chief Engineer’s Conference Hall at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad. The seminar is being hosted by Engineering Department in Coordination with the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), New Delhi. Around 50% of Senior Section Engineers (Track) from all over the Zone are participating in the seminar.

Addressing the seminar, the General Manager appreciated the efforts of Section Engineers in maintaining the track in perfect condition. Further he said that the Section Engineers are directly responsible for the safety of the track and everyone should work with first hand information on the field position. He instructed the Track supervisors to work with focus in maintaining the financial discipline, Material Management and make plans for proper utilisation of human resources. He also advised them to closely monitor all the vulnerable areas including yards etc. He further advised the section engineers to train the down line staff and make them ready for attending any unusual takes place in their absence also.

Principal Chief Engineer K.V. Siva Prasad advised the staff to work with dedication and commitment. He assured that the issues/grievances raised by the participants during the interactive session will be resolved immediately. He also suggested solutions to several technical problems encountered in day to day working. Further he advised the participants to send the detailed proposals for up gradation and improvements to infrastructure facilities.
