Telangana polls: 5,000 VVPAT machines reach Hyderabad

In the view of approaching polls at the end of this year, the process of holding elections is going at a brisk pace in the state with around 5000 Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) devices reach the city.

The VVPAT machines which are connected to EVMs are used to generate a slip with the party symbol and serial number after a voter casts his vote. And the slip will be deposited in a box which will get sealed by the officials at the polling booths.

These machines will be sent to 3,826 polling centres in the district and get into use after testing which is done by October 4.
