Water connection in Telangana cut to Rs 100
The Telangana government has cut the deposit amount for water connection to Rs 100 for the families of the above poverty line and Rs 1 for others against the current amount of Rs 6000
The Telangana government has cut the deposit amount for water connection to Rs 100 for the families of the above poverty line and Rs 1 for others against the current amount of Rs 6000.
Earlier, the government used to collect 6,000 as deposit amount to obtain the water connection and it is Rs 10,500 if the connection was taken inside the house. Speaking at a review meeting, KCR said that the government has decided to slash the amount so that all the people can get the water connection.
"No one is coming forward to take the water connection as the deposit amount was high, only a people residing in the urban areas has availed the connections," KCR said adding that the government wants all the people to have safe drinking water in the state.
The municipalities and corporations are yet to give 7.9 lakh connections. So far, they have given 1.2 lakh connections.
