Sangareddy (Medak): District Collector A Dinakar Babu instructed the officials to take precautions to prevent spread of diseases like diarrhea and malaria during monsoon. He was addressing the task force officials of Rural Water Scheme and Medical and Health departments at the Collectorate here on Thursday.
The collector warned the officials to be careful during the monsoon which was time for spread of disease and mosquitoes. "This month is treated as month for eradication of mosquito and diarrhea," he added. The officials should take care of water supply by chlorinating the drinking water. "Leakages to the drinking water pipes and drainage lines should be identified and repaired," he said.
Chlorination should be undertaken in all the villages and side drains should be regularly cleaned. "Kerosene or used engine oil could be sprayed over the stagnated water," he said.The primary health centres and the sub centres should conduct tests for malaria regularly, he said.
District medical and health officer Dr C Ranga Reddy, district additional medical officer DR Padma, district malaria officer Dr Nagaiah, RWS SE Vijay Prakash, ZP CEO Asirvadam, Mepa PD Poornachandra Rao, municipal commissioners, NRHM DPO Jagannadha Reddy and others present.
Meanwhile, the district collector met the representatives of Columbia University who congratulated the district collector for effectively implementing the suggestions extended by them in the past regarding the medical services to the people. The Columbia University representatives headed by Megan Towle and Subhra Kumar among others were present.
The collector said that GPRS would be fitted in 104 vehicles to check the timings and the route details. The biometric system would be introduced at Vaidya Vidhana Parishat hospitals, primary health centres and district medical and health office to check the timings of the employees. Dr C Ranga Reddy, Dr Vina Kumari, Dr Vijayalakshmi, DPO Jagannadha Reddy and others were present.
