New Delhi: A day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave his consent for a CBI probe in the murder case of journalist Rajdeo Ranjan, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Union Minister for Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday demanded a probe by the nation's top investigating agency in the Gaya road rage case as well.

Addressing a press conference, Paswan said the grand alliance government led by Nitish was 'incompetent' in carrying out a proper investigation in the road rage case where suspended JD (U) MLC Manorama Devi's son Rocky Yadav is accused of killing a 19-year-old boy.

"The country is one in the leadership of Narendra Modi and will always remain one. He (Nitish) should see his work. It is because of the pressure of the media, the people, the LJP and others that he has ordered a CBI probe into the incident," Paswan said.

"We had been asking for that since so many days. We have been saying that this (Bihar) government is incompetent. They have accepted that the Bihar Government is unable to carry out the investigation. They should now also send the road rage incident of Gaya to the CBI," he added.

The LJP chief said his party's only demand is that the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar comes back on track.

"Our party believes that the law and order situation cannot improve during the regime of the mahagathbandhan," he said.

The Bihar Police had arrested Rocky, the main accused in the murder case, last Tuesday.

The police later arrested Rocky's father Bindi Yadav and their bodyguard in connection with the case.

Manorama Devi was also detained for hours by the police last Monday for interrogation.

Rakesh Ranjan Yadav alias Rocky is accused of killing Class XII student Aditya Sachdeva after an argument with the youth for overtaking his vehicle on May 7.

Paswan had earlier cornered the Bihar Government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and said the condition is not going to improve until Nitish remains the chief minister.

Claiming that political murders and lawlessness have become the order of the day in Bihar, Paswan and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi had earlier demanded President's rule in the state.

A delegation of the LJP met President Pranab Mukherjee and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh last week and handed over a memorandum demanding President's rule in Bihar.
