Collector makes whirlwind tour in Gudur division

Nellore: Collector B Sridhar made a whirlwind tour of several tribal colonies in Gudur division of Nellore district on Tuesday. He inspected development works in the tribal colonies. He toured Chennuru, Reddygunta Sangham, Kundakuru villages in Gudur rural mandal. He planted saplings in Indira Jalaprabha lands and interacted with the villagers. He partook lunch with the tribals of Reddygunta Sangham. Later, he went around the lands that were being cultivated by Dalits and discussed with the latter and tribals in order to create awareness among them on SC/ST Sub-Plan. He explained about the schemes and enquired about drinking water problems and directed the officials to solve the problem immediately. The Collector, who observed the life style of tribals, advised them to use toilets in order to keep ailments at bay. Some tribals complained to him that they are not getting drinking water for even once in 15 days in Chennur. In turn, the Collector sought an explanation from the Rural Water Supply Department officials. He pulled them up when they tried to explain of some technical glitches while supplying water.
