raDMK supremo M Karuna- nidhi not only took the risk of withdrawing the support to the UPA Government but also joined hands with the BJP which forced the saffron party to even change its stand on principal 2G accused A Raja. But in the bargain, Karunanidhi may have to pay a price. His dearly-beloved daughter Kanimozhi may not get re-elected without the Congress support. In fact, when Kanimozhi was arrested, an angry father rocked the UPA Government forcing the intervention of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. As Kanimozhi and Tiruchi Siva retire on July 24, the DMK does not have the numbers to get even one of the two elected to the Rajya Sabha. The DMK was handed out a severe drubbing in the last Tamil Nadu Assembly elections reducing it to 23 MLAs. Minimum 34 MLAs are required to elect a Rajya Sabha MP. Karunanidhi may now wonder whether it was wise on his part to have crossed swords with the Congress.
