Sai Vaidya Sangamam: II Annual Alumni Meet of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram and Whitefield
The Sai Vaidya Sangamam, the II Annual Alumni Meet of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences(SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram and Whitefield was organized at the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram on 23rd and 24th January, 2016 by the Alumni Association of SSSIHMS.
Prasanthigram: The Sai Vaidya Sangamam, the II Annual Alumni Meet of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences(SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram and Whitefield was organized at the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram on 23rd and 24th January, 2016 by the Alumni Association of SSSIHMS.
The meet saw the participation of over 150 alumni of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram and Whitefield cutting across the various specialties from all over the country and abroad.
Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust (SSSCT), Sri K. Chakravarthy, while mentioning the fact that it was the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram’s 25th anniversary, asked the alumni to consider a larger participation in the working of the hospital in the spirit of love and as a homage to Bhagawan Baba. “All those who have been beneficiaries of the medical institutions of Bhagawan Baba, should continue to express their gratitude not only their contribution of the alumni in the years to come, but also in their own elevation as human beings and as medical professionals,” he added.
Trustee, SSSCT, Sri R.J. Rathnakar, speaking on the occasion said that when Bhagawan Baba had mentioned that there would be a super specialty hospital in this rural area of Puttaparthi, nobody believed, but today 25 years have gone and this hospital is serving the humanity round the clock. “Both the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram and Whitefield have served around 50 lakh people between them, these figures are mind boggling, he added. “With a view to provide better services to the people, with Bhagawan Baba’s blessings (SSSCT) has spent around 100 crores for the new equipment and upgradation of the various facilities of the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram and Whitefield,” he said.
Director of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, Dr. Gurumurthy, while welcoming all the delegates and dignitaries reiterated the five principles of Bhagawan Baba’s healthcare namely Universalisation of Healthcare, Decommercialisation of healthcare, Human Values in Healthcare, Spiritualisation of Healthcare. Dignitaries present on the occasion were, Secretary SSSCT, Sri. Prasada Rao, Director, SSSIHMS, Whitefield, Dr. D.C .Sundaresh and Vice Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam, Dr. K.B.R Varma.
