Chasing a near improbable total of 224, Sunrisers Hyderabad wilted under pressure to be at 110/7 in 15 overs and end the innings at an abysmal 146 for eight wickets. A rather modest innings by Parthiv Patel (44) came to an end and the host lost any chance of making a meaningful fight of the exercise.A Raina cast a spell of his own with the ball when he removed Hanuma Vihari (3), giving Hyderabad its third jolt when the score was a mere 55. R Ashwin accounted for Kumar Sangakkara (3) in the sixth over with the score reading 46. However, the turning point for the two-time champion came when a brilliant reflex action by skipper-wicket keeper, M S Dhoni, saw danger man Shikar Dhawan stranded in the middle after his individual score was a mere three. Dhawan was out in the second over. Earlier, Raina and Hussey (67) were at their rampaging best while collaring the bowlers all round the wicket, Ishanth Sharma was specifically singled out for special treatment as he conceded a staggering 66 runs in the four overs. Hyderabad had retained it's winning eleven, the two-time champion have brought in Jason Holder for Ben Laughlin. Brief scores: Chennai Super Kings 223 for three (Suresh Raina 99no, Mike Hussey 67, Murali Vijay 29) bt Sunrisers Hyderabad (Parthiv Patel 44, Karan Sharma 39 no, Thisara Perera 23, Mohit Sharma 2/28)
