Devnar Foundation for Blind in association with Super Gas Foundation will be conducting FIDE-rating All India chess tournament for the visually challenged at Devnar School for the blind, here from Wednesday to May 1.  

Hyderabad: Devnar Foundation for Blind in association with Super Gas Foundation will be conducting FIDE-rating All India chess tournament for the visually challenged at Devnar School for the blind, here from Wednesday to May 1.

Dr Saibaba Goud, Founder -Chairman of the school said on Monday that they would also be conducting the 22nd National cricket tournament for the blindfrom May 4 to 8.

“Eight cricket teams from all over the country will be participating in the five-day tournament,”he said. He said about 150 visually challenged chess players from across the country will be participating in the five-day tournament. “The matches will be played between 10am and 4pm” he added.

“The top three players will be given cash prizes along with the trophy while the top finishers will be given cash prizes,” he said. Some of the cricketers who were part of the Indian team that won the 2014 World Cup will also be seen in action. Prof Sridhar Murthy also spoke.
