KCR Birthday Cricket Tournament underway at OU

Hyderabad: On the Occasion of Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandra Shekhar Rao’s 65th Birthday on  February 17,  ‘KCR Birthday Cricket Tournament’ has begun on Wednesday at ‘C’ Grounds Osmania University.  

This tournament was inaugurated by SATS Chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy. Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy said that he is very glad to see the Osmania University Students who participated in Telangana movement together with KCR are conducting the ‘KCR Birthday Cricket Tournament’. “ This shows the affection of students towards him. Telangana Students are coming up in Education as well as Sports. I am trying to get permission from our CM for conducting the “Khelo India Youth Games” in November 2019”, he added. 

He also expressed thanks to the CM for providing Residential Hostels with food facilities for the Backward Class students of Osmania University. He also mentioned about the synthetic track for Athletics to be constructed in Osmania University with estimated expenditure of Rs 10 crore, for which permission was already received from the government.  

He also expressed gratitude to the government for giving 2 per cent reservation in sports quota for government jobs. O.U Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramachandrudu, O.U student leader Gellu Srinivas Yadav, Sri Kumar, Shyam and others participated in this event.
