KCR focuses on 2BHK promise?

Hyderabad: As far as Telangana state is concerned it’s still a neonate. Nevertheless, KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, and the team led by him appears to be very keen on implementation of the electoral promises. After the farm loan waiver, the next electoral promise Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his government in the pipeline is the provision of 2 BHK homes to weaker sections within a budget range of Rs 3L.

The Chief Minister is reportedly keen to get the much publicised housing scheme off the ground and has reportedly instructed the officials to work out the modalities for the same. According to the sources, the government will give preference to the poorest of the poor who live in thatched huts or are homeless. The beneficiaries will be identified by a committee established exclusively for the purpose. According to conventional estimates, the insist will be for six lakh houses in rural areas, apart from an estimated requirement of 22 lakh houses in urban areas, bringing the total to about 28 lakh houses. The government plans to give priority to rural housing and extend it to urban areas in phases, added sources.
