Former KU professor is ICHR chief
Warangal: Former KU Professor is ICHR Chief, A retired professor Yellapragada Sudharshan Rao has been appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR).
Warangal: A retired professor Yellapragada Sudharshan Rao has been appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR).
Prof Rao hails from Kollapur in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana state. He will be holding the position for a term of three years. He is expected to assume the charge on June 28 in New Delhi.
He retired from Kakatiya University Department of History where he was the head of the department and also served as dean of faculty sciences. He worked at the university for about 40 years, teaching and researching. Prof Rao guided eight Ph D and 15 M Phil students and has about 40 research papers published in various national and international journals to his credit. He travelled extensively and visited countries like US, England and Malaysia. His appointment has brought great pride and honour to Kakatiya University, said the university professors, scholars and employees.
