While Naidu wants to use his contacts, his brand image and experience he had gained during his rule between 1996 and 2004 as the ‘CEO’ of the undivided State and succeeded in attracting huge investments in IT and infrastructure, KTR, son of Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is relying on the ‘brand Hyderabad’ and the stable government under his father’s dispensation to drum up support from the captains of industry.

The recent marathon meetings conducted with IT managements and other investors by KTR sent strong signals that the Telangana government was keen to invite huge investments in the State, particularly in Hyderabad which has international level institutes like Business schools and IIIT, etc.

In the meetings, KTR had unveiled his vision on speedy development of the State capital. He assured the industry that the government would provide Wi-Fi connectivity across the city. He also said Hyderabad will be the first city in the country to have ‘IT Incubation centre’ to encourage research and development and innovation.
Industry sources said KTR is trying hard to create an impression that the Telangana government was also not short of vision for IT development. The big challenge before the Telangana government was to convince the investors who are weighting the pros and cons of investing in AP and Telangana which would be offering special incentives to the industry under special status category. KTR’s oratory skills and his acumen on business aspects helped him win the hearts of investors to some extent.

Naidu’s vision is to decentralise the development process by establishing State of the art institutions across the AP and then offer incentives to the investors to set up IT, manufacturing and infrastructure projects. Establishment of IITs, IAMs, AIIMS and other world class educational and research institutions would be the beginning point to attract investments. “ The two leaders are getting ready to show their performance in attracting investments in IT, reality and infrastructure in the two states, ” industry sources said.
