Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed District Collectors to adopt zero tolerance attitude towards encroachers of forest lands. District administrations should work along with forest department to liberate properties of the latter, he said.

In his review meeting with District Collectors and Joint Collectors at Secretariat on Tuesday, KCR emphasised on increasing green cover in Telangana with his flagship scheme, Haritha Haaram. He pointed out Rs 500 crore would be allocated for this scheme in the budget.

July first week of year would be dedicated to plant saplings in Telangana. KCR desired to plant 230 crore saplings in the State in the next three years.

Meanwhile, KCR asked district officials to give extra attention to land distribution to Dalits under the scheme, which, he said, was his dream project. Unused lands should be gathered as much as possible for effective implementation of this scheme, he felt.
