Warangal district has got rich cultural heritage and the youth should innovate and come up with new forms of dances and dance ballets to depict the district’s art forms at state and national level and thus popularize them, he said.


The Speaker on Thursday inaugurated the district youth festival organised under the aegis of the Youth Services department in Hanamkonda. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised on the significance of youth festivals in promoting young talents and the highlighting local culture.

Addressing the gathering, Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhaskar exhorted the youth to draw inspiration from personalities like Vivekananda to serve the nation. They should join the NSS and NCC organisations to shape their personality, besides offering their services to the society.

He promised that efforts would be made to construct one indoor stadium exclusively to organise the youth festival and other related activities at the district headquarters. The government would be asked to accord priority in education and jobs to those who excelled in youth festivals. The state government has been coming up with youth-centric programmes, the MLA said.

District Youth Welfare officer Purushotham informed that those in the age group of 13 to 35 years were selected for district level event through the competitions held in all the 12 constituencies in the district.

Participating in the valedictory function, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. T Rajaiah said the government was planning to construct mini stadia each at a cost of Rs 2.1 crore in all Assembly constituencies in the State to encourage youth activities.

Similarly with an estimated cost of Rs 1.6 crore, mini-indoor and outdoor stadia would be built at all mandal headquarters in five acres land with the help of central government funds for sports talents promotion, he informed.

Expressing pleasure over the participation of more number of girls in the competitions, he said the youth should follow the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, B R Ambedkar and Alluri Sitarama Raju who became popular at a young age and dedicated their lives for the service of the country.

“Telangana future is in the hands of youth. Set up goals in life and make hard efforts to achieve them. I am an example to prove the fact that hard work pays. I faced great many difficulties yet made sincere efforts to reach heights in the life”, Dr. Rajaiah said.

Noted writer Amphasayya Naveen, Additional Joint Collector K Krishna Reddy, NSS coordinator B Suresh Lal, Telangana Sarpanches Forum president Yakub Reddy, DPRO Bala Gangadhar Tilak, Assistant Director DS Jagan, Nehru Yuva Kendra coordinator Manoranjan and others were present.
