Development works worth 200 crore to be executed

Bhupalapally (Warangal): Coal town of Bhupalapally would soon be made headquarters of a new revenue division, said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here on Friday. He chaired a review meeting and proposed to take up development works worth Rs 200 crore in the Bhupalpally Assembly constituency represented by Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary.

The two-hour meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. T Rajaiah, the Speaker, Ministers Eatala Rajender, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, C Laxma Reddy, P Srinivas Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and officials of various departments. Issues related to Panchayary Raj, Roads & Buildings, Irrigation, RTC, Medical and Health departments were discussed. However, KCR failed to speak on his election promise of making Bhuapalpally a district.

It was planned to build a bus-stand at a cost of Rs 1.7 crore. For this, Rs 50 lakh would be contributed by Warangal MP Kadiam Srihari, while the rest would be borne by SCCL and TS Genco. The Chief Minister directed RTC to allocate 10 buses to local depot. He asked the Health department to submit proposals to upgrade Bhupalpally Primary Health Centre to a 100-bed hospital and for constructing 50-bed hospital in Chityal mandal headquarters. He sanctioned three more electricity sub-stations to strengthen power supply in the constituency. The Panchayat Raj roads would be widened and roads would be laid to villages.

On the problem of ash pollution caused by KTPP at Dubbapalli and Madhavaraopalli, KCR directed SCCL officials to adopt the villages to ensure development and to address people’s problems. He urged political parties to support the government in implementing programmes like the Kakatiya Mission. Districts in the State receive 265 TMC of rain water every year, if it is conserved there would no scarcity for water for three years, KCR stated.

About 40,000 saplings would be planted in each village every year for the next three years to boost greenery and rainfall, he added. Later, the Chief Minister, accompanied by TS Genco CMD D Prabhakar Rao visited Kakatiya Thermal Power Project (KTPP) at Chelpur and inspected works of the second and third phases. He asked officials to ensure 600 MW power by completing the units by August-end. ZP chairperson G Padma, MPs Srihari and A Seetaram Naik, MLAs A Ramesh, DS Redya Naik, M Yadagiri Reddy, Ch Dharma Reddy, Collector G Kishan were present.
