Warangal: Warangal MP Kadiam Srihari and Parliamentary Secretary D Vinay Bhasker appealed to the opposition parties not to create hurdles in the execution of Ground Plus One housing programme initiated by state government.
They said the programme is aimed at providing a well equipped shelter to the poorer sections living in slums under the Warangal Municipal Corporation limits and improving their living standards. However, the opposition parties which were acting with vested interests were opposing it, they opined.
Speaking to press persons at the TRS district headquarters in Hanamkonda on Sunday, Srihari and Vinay Bhasker complained that leaders of CPI, CPM, BJP, TDP and Congress were misguiding the slum-dwellers over the construction of ‘Ground Plus One’ housing and provoking them to take up agitations.
“We cannot understand why the opposition parties are worried over the housing programme which is meant for the well being of poorer sections,” they said.
“These parties fear that if the programme is implemented their political base will be in jeopardy,” they said.
They said the Congress and TDP which ruled for years and CPI, CPM and BJP only used the poorer sections as their vote bank and never thought about their welfare. Now they are unable to digest the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s pro-poor approach.
MP Srihari took serious exception to the formation of Individual Houses Sadhana Samithi under the aegis of Left wing parties CPI and CPM to oppose the housing programme. “Such things would not serve the cause of the poorer sections”, he noted.
He urged the beneficiaries who were identified under the housing programme not to heed the misguiding tactics of opposition parties.
“The government would not take away your land, you would get pattas, and construction of ground plus one housing complex.
