Hyderabad: Senior BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy opposing the decision of the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, in shifting the Chest hospital, filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court.

Addressing a press conference later in the afternoon on Wednesday, Nagam alleged that KCR has no knowledge of the Chest hopsital’s history. He said the Chief Minister does not know why the hospital was set up at that place and added that KCR thinks that it is like similar to TB hospital.

The Chief Minister should first understand the difference between the chest hospital and the TB hospital. There are also HIV patients who are taking treatment in the hospital. If the general hospital is shifted, it will not be possible for the poor to take treatment from this hospital. Treatment during golden hour is very important for any patient. Shifting of the hospital would pave the way for problems to the poor patients, Nagam said.

The BJP leader further added that Chest hospital was also a general hospital which caters to the needs of hundreds of poor people. Shifting of a general hospital in the name of Vaastu is a “mindless decision,” he said.

“Chief Minister cannot take people for a ride in the name of Vaastu. He is taking unilateral decision and does not even bother to consult anyone and even if someone gives him some advice, he is not willing to listen to them,” Nagam rued.
