The Telangana State government has decided to modernise all 490 girls and boys BC welfare hostels in the State. Speaking to newspersons here on Thursday, BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna, said that earlier governments have neglected the BC hostels and students were forced to sleep on floors due to lack of beds and cots.

Speaking to newspersons here on Thursday, BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna, said that earlier governments have neglected the BC hostels and students were forced to sleep on floors due to lack of beds and cots.

The minister informed that the government has decided to provide ground plus one cot in all hostels. He said that government would focus on improving facilities in the hostels, intends to construct permanent buildings in all the districts and study circles in next five years.

Ramanna said the government is mulling to provide coaching for competitive exams including UPSC exams by roping in intellectuals in the study centres. A decision on the same would be announced after consent from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he added
