Khammam: The CPM Khammam district committee is gearing up to show its cadre’s strength in the upcoming and the first Telangana State Conference of the party to be held in Hyderabad from March 1 to 4.


Addressing a party meeting here on Tuesday, district committee secretary Pothineni Sudarshan Rao said that the first state meeting of the party would focus on issues such as development of the new state, social justice and the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden.

He said that the CPM decided to mobilise at least 50,000 party workers and 10,000 red-shirt volunteers from the district for the State meet.

“We have a target of mobilising one person at least from each house for the Hyderabad meeting,” Rao said, pointing to their mega campaign plans.

He said that the party workers will come up with a host of cultural activities like Dappu dance, Koya dance, Yakshaganam, Gosangi and other folk forms at the meeting.

Party politburo members Sitaram Yechury, B V Raghavulu and many other national leaders are expected to take part in the meeting. Rao called upon the party activists to launch a huge campaign for the success of the State meeting.

Senior leaders Kasani Ailaiah, Nunna Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Venkateswara Rao, Kalyanam Venkateswara Rao, Annavarapu Kankaiah, AJ Ramesh, Lingala Kamal Raj, Bathula Lenin, Yerra Srikanth, Y Ravi Kumar, M Satyanarayana, Y Srinivas, T Bhaskar Rao, Nageswara Rao, A Satyanarayana, K Pullaiah, Sameena Afroz, Mach Lakshmi and Bandi Padma were present.
