Poll code: Land regularisation In Telangana put on hold
In view of the MLC election code, the State Government has stalled, for the time-being, the distribution of regularization of pattas to the beneficiaries in Telangana. The Government, which ought to take up the regularization drive from February 20 had to stick to the elections code.

As per notification issued by the Election Commission, nominations are being accepted from February 19 to 26. After scrutiny and withdrawals, if any, the elections will be conducted on March 16 and results will be declared on March 19. The poll code will be effective till March 23. The TRS government has reportedly asked all district administrations to put on hold the scheme until the poll code is lifted.
It is likely that the State government will press in ministers, MPs, MLAs and other people’s representatives to participate in the regularization drive in March last week. Those in possession of 125 sq yards of government land are needed regularization and had to wait another month for the same.
