Sangareddy (Medak): Members of several trade unions led by CPI(M) staged a dharna at the Collectorate here on Monday demanding the government revive the closed industries. Addressing the gathering, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) State leader Mallikarjun asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to take measures for the revival of closed units as the government has been giving priority to the industrial sector.

While welcoming the government decision to give single-window clearance for setting up of industries, he wanted the CM to take initiatives to reopen the closed industries. Mallikarjun said about 50 industrial units were shut after the TRS formed the government. He stated that around 20,000 workers have been rendered jobless following the closure of industries.
