They took out a rally from Sundarayya Vignana Kendram to Indira Park. Addressing the workers at the meeting, CPI(M) state Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has failed to implement his electoral promises.

He also slammed KCR for sacking the GHMC workers. He demanded the government to fulfill the demands of civic workers who are on strike for the past one month and take back the suspended workers in the GHMC limits.

Tammineni termed the government as 'anti-poor'. He felt that CM was following undemocratic methods in handling the strike of the municipal workers. The meeting felt that CM's prolonged silence on the issue is unjustifiable. He is also neglecting SCs, STs and BCs who are more among the agitating workers.

They demanded wage hike on par with government employees and reinstatement of the sacked GHMC workers. He said if the government continues with its adamant stand then it would face severe consequences. The opposition parties will wait till August 10 for response from government, he said.

The civic workers have decided to hold protests in all municipal bodies in all districts across the state on Wednesday and will take out candle rallies on Thursday. They also said, relay hunger strikes will continue until July 10 Leaders including CPI(M) State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, CPI state State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, BJP Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar and many others leaders participated in the meeting.
