HC junks plea against lifetime tax on vehicles

Hyderabad: The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising of Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice SV Bhatt dismissed a writ plea filed by Abdul Karim as withdrawn.
The petitioner was seeking declaration that the action of collecting/imposing lifetime tax in respect of vehicles registered outside the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was illegal and arbitrary and sought directions not to collect/impose such tax and not to seize/harass the vehicles owners.
