Hyderabad: Revolutionary poet Gadar on Monday declined the offer made by the Left Parties to contest the by-election to the Warangal Lok Sabha constituency.
Gadar rejected the offer stating that his candidature needs to be debated. Speaking to the media after a meeting with representatives of different ST, SC and Minorities’ organisations and some students of Osmania University who tried to convince him to contest the by-election, Gadar said he had no intention to enter the electoral politics at this juncture.
However, he said, he would continue to create awareness among the people through non-political forums. The meeting, which lasted for an hour, felt that the TRS government has been implementing anti-people and anti-farmers policies. “The weaker and poorer sections of society did not benefit from the formation of Telangana,” it felt.
