Hyderabad: On his last-but-one day visit of China, the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao participated in a seminar on “Business Opportunities for Hong Kong Companies in the State of Telangana” in Hong Kong on Tuesday. He gave a brief insight on the new Industrial Policy, single window system and hassle-free clearances and timely approvals.

Earlier, Prashant Agrawal, the Consul General of India in Hong Kong welcomed the business honchos from the city. A five-minute documentary on Telangana was shown to them. Arvind Kumar, Secretary (Industries and Commerce) made a presentation on business opportunities in Telangana.

It was followed by question answer interactive session where the participants sought information on scope for business and trade in Telangana. The Chief Minister reached Hong Kong from Shenzhen yesterday evening as part of his China visit. Hong Kong on the southern coast of China is known for its skyline and deep natural harbour.

It has a highly developed public transportation network covering 90 per cent of the population, the highest in the world, and relies on mass transit by road or rail. After his interaction with industry captains, the Chief Minister-led delegation visited the place of Big Buddha statue generally known as Tian Tan Buddha.This is a large bronze statue completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island.

It is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong, and is also a popular tourist attraction. The statue is 112 ft tall, weighs over 250 metric tonnes and was constructed with 202 bronze pieces The Chief Minister and his delegation will leave Hong Kong on Wednesday afternoon to reach Hyderabad in the evening.
