Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Information Technology K T Rama Rao on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the World Bank relegating Telangana State to 13th rank for “easy to do business.”

Rao said ,“We do not know on what basis the World Bank came out with such a report. Irrespective of the report, Telangana State government will go ahead with its plan of industrial development and attract investments.”

KTR asserted that the State’s new industrial policy was being appreciated by one and all and entrepreneurs from several parts of the country had been evincing keen interest on investing in the State, he said.

The World Bank report also drew flak from political parties for poor projection of Telangana State. Interestingly, some leaders suspected whether the report was prepared by the BJP-led NDA government and painted it as if it was the World Bank report.

Since Gujarat was the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telugu Desam being its NDA ally, the Andhra Pradesh got second rank and Gujarat first position, they said.
