Janardhan Reddy to be new GHMC Commissioner

Hyderabad: In a major reshuffle, the Telangana government on Friday transferred 23 IAS officers, including GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, who drew the ire of political parties over the alleged exclusion of names from the voters list. He was shifted to the Tribal Welfare department. HMWSSB MD B Janardhan Reddy will be the new GHMC Commissioner.

The transfer of Somesh Kumar at a time when the GHMC elections are expected in next couple of months is an interesting development. Many political parties had complained against Somesh Kumar to the EC for the alleged removal of voters particularly those from Andhra region living in various parts of GHMC limits.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is said to have given his nod for the transfers after reviewing the performance of the IAS officers. This is the biggest reshuffle after the TRS government came to power.

According to sources, Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj) Raymond Peter has been posted as Principal Commissioner, CCLA in place of Aadhar Sinha, shifted to GAD (Political). SP Singh has been given the post of Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj). T Chiranjeevulu, Commissioner, School Education, has been posted as the new HMDA Commissioner, replacing Shalini Mishra, appointed Secretary, GAD.

Vikas Raj has been appointed Principal Secretary (Forests and Environment) in the place of Rajeshwar Tiwari. Tiwari will be the Principal Secretary (Medical and Health). Suresh Chanda, Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) till recently, has been given the charge of PS (Animal Husbandry). Meanwhile, GHMC Special Commissioner Navin Mittal has been appointed Commissioner I&PR. Shekhar Prasad Singh, Special Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department, is transferred and posted as Special Chief Secretary, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply Department.

G D Aruna has been posted as Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare in the existing vacancy. Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, Commissioner, Tribal Welfare and Ex-Officio Managing Director, TRICOR, is transferred as Secretary to Government, Scheduled Castes Development Department in the existing vacancy.

M Dana Kishore, Secretary to Government, Housing Department, has been given full additional charge of Commissioner and Director, Municipal Administration, Hyderabad, until further orders. M Veerabrahmaiah, Managing Director, OILFED, Hyderabad, has been posted as Director, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Hyderabad. He is also placed in full additional charge of the post of CEO, SERP and Commissioner for Cooperation & Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Hyderabad, until further orders.

G Kishan, Special Commissioner, GHMC, has been transferred and posted as Director, School Education.

Similarly, Anita Ramachandran, Director, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner, GHMC. K Nirmala, Mission Director, MEPMA has been placed at the disposal of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department for appointment as Managing Director, Dairy Development Cooperation Federation Limited, Hyderabad. A Srinivas, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Dairy Development Cooperation Federation Limited, has been posted as Joint Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department.

A Murali, Chief Executive Officer, Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty, Hyderabad will be Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, OILFED, Hyderabad. He is also placed in full additional charge of the post of Managing Director, Agros and Managing Director, Telangana State Seeds Development Corporation, Hyderabad.

Dr MV Reddy, Director, Scheduled Castes Development, Hyderabad, has been placed in full additional charge of Director, Technical Education, relieving Vani Prasad, appointed Commissioner, Collegiate Education.
