Hyderabad: ‘Telangana Rashtrodayam’, a book written by TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram, was released at a programme held at Somajiguda Press Club on Wednesday. Ex-MLC and educationist Chukka Ramaiah, Prof. Rama Melkote, Prof. G Krishna Reddy, Centre for Dalit Studies founder Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, poet and writer Juluri Gourishankar among others took part.

Speaking on the occasion, Chukka Ramaiah opined that Kodandaram's writings reflected the aspirations of people. He said that the TJAC was the key in transformation of Telangana agitation into a people's movement.

Meanwhile, Kodandaram explained that he touched upon problems faced by Telangana public and the dominant attitude of Seemandhra rulers until 1998 after which the next phase of agitation started to pick up. He added that he researched a lot and studied a lot of books on Telangana while doing his Ph.D. “The detailed study helped me realise the need for formation of a separate State and hence a decision was taken to play a key role in the Statehood movement, Kodandaram said.
