Karimnagar: Telangana Rashtra Samithi activists observed Deeksha Divasat Telangana Chowk on Sunday, to mark the occasion of the six years ofthe Chief Minister K Chandrasekahar Rao’s fast unto death strike.

As part of his agitation programme to achieve separate Telanganastate, KCR began hunger strike on November 29, 2009. While he was moving to Medak district from Karimangar to start stir, Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief was arrested by the police at Alugunur in the outskirts of Karimngar town and shifted to Khammam jail. Later, KCR was shifted to NIMS hospital in Hyderabad where he continued his hunger strike. To mark the occasion, TRSV students observed a day-long Deeksha on Sunday.

Birkur (Nizamabad): KCR’s Deeksha Divas was celebrated in the town on Sunday. Addressing the gathering, Birkur Mandal TRS president P Srinivas said the Telangana State became a reality only on account of KCR’s fast.
