SEC appoints 24 IAS officers as election observers
The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday issued orders to as many as 24 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to take charge as election observers in all 150 wards in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. It has also put another five IAS officers on reserve to use them in emergency.
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday issued orders to as many as 24 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to take charge as election observers in all 150 wards in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. It has also put another five IAS officers on reserve to use them in emergency.
Besides them, the SEC also appointed 24 senior officials to check election revenue and audit the election expenditure. It has also clarified that the officer appointed for GHMC election should also work for SEC under deputation. The election commission also said that it would hold a special meeting with observers on December 28.
