After a brief gap of conducting the five- day long Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam that went on successfully and peacefully, an elated Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday got back to work at the Secretariat and conducted various review meetings.

The officials concerned who invited the wrath of Opposition for attending the Yagam were on toes literally attending the review meeting convened by the Chief Minister.

He held a review meeting on the budget for 2016-17 fiscal and took a decision to conduct the Cabinet meet on January 2 and discussed the GHMC elections with the Ministers and also took stock of the progress of the flagship programmes of the government. Chandrashekar Rao is likely to take key decisions including waiver of bills of water and power arrears, Godavari projects and design changes and others during the Cabinet meeting on January 2 and will conduct TRS Legislature Party meeting the following day.

During a brief discussion on the State budget for 2016-17, the Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare proposals with proper allocations and estimates and clarity figures and data. He also reviewed on minority welfare and directed the officials to finalise the proposals for the budget, it is said.

As part of his Warangal tour on January 4 and 5, Chandrashekar Rao will be attending a programme of bridge inauguration by Union Surface Transport Minister Nithin Gadkari at Eturu Nagaram in Warangal on January 4 and dedicate to the nation the stage 2 Kothagudem Thermal Power Station at Bhupalapally the next day. Later the Chief Minister will hold a district review meeting at Warangal collector office on January 5 afternoon. Chandrashekar Rao will also take stock of repair works of Kakatiya Canal and Sammakka and Sarakka Jathara.
