Ayush in Telangana

AYUSH deals with these traditional and alternate systems of medicine mainly Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.

OBJECTIVES

1) To provide Medicare facilities to the people of the State through Ayurvedic, Unani and Homoeopathy systems of medicine.
2) To impart quality education at Graduation and Post Graduation level though the Medical Colleges of Ayurvedic, Unani Homoeopathy, Naturopathy systems of medicine to produce qualified medical practitioners in these systems of medicines
3) To manufacture quality Ayurvedic, Homoeopathy and Unani Medicines through the Government Pharmacies and make them available on free of cost to the patients coming for treatment to Hospitals and Dispensaries being run by the Department under these (3) systems of medicine.
4) To regulate the manufacture and sale of Ayurvedic, Unani and Homoeopathy drugs in accordance with law.
5) To monitor the quality of Ayurvedic, Unani and Homoeopathy Drugs being manufactured or sold in the state.
6) To maintain the State register of Medical Practitioners in Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathy

Herbarium is used for maintenance of Medicinal Plants to sensitise, bring about awareness and educational purpose for the students of Unani College.

6. Drug Testing Laboratory

State Level Drug Testing Laboratory is situated at Erragadda, Hyderabad:
The Laboratory will testify all the samples collected by the Drug Inspectors of the Department and will also testify the efficacy of the Raw Drugs purchased by the Department through tenders for preparation of Medicines.

AYURVEDA

Government Ayurveda Hospital, Charminar, Hyderabad is having a total bed strength of (100) beds. The following are the other details of the Hospital.
• The Hospital has a capacity of (50) Internees for UG students to complete their House surgeon ship and (18) P.G Doctors for Clinical Study.
• The Medical staff of the Hospital are (66)
• The Ministerial, Para Medical and other Class IV Staff are (66) who are equally supported by certain Contract/Out-Sourcing employees.
• This Hospital has an average OP (250-350) per day.
• This Hospital has an average 70% bed occupancy.

Government Ayurveda College, Erragadda, Hyderabad can be said as an Associate College of Charminar Hospital, as there is no sanctioned cadre strength to the Hospital and all the staff are deputed from the Charminar Hospital. A total no. of (100) beds are shifted from the Charminar Hospital. The staff for the Hospital Medical, Para-Medical, Ministerial and Class IV are being utilised from sanctioned cadre strength of the Government Ayurveda College, Charminar. This Hospital has an average of OP of 250-350 per day and 68% bed occupancy.

A.L Government Ayurveda Hospital, Warangal is having a total bed strength of (100) beds. The following are the other details of the Hospital.

• The Hospital has a capacity of (50) Internees for UG to complete their House surgeons.
• The Medical staff of the Hospital are (6)
• The Ministerial, Para Medical and other Class IV Staff are (55) who are equally supported by certain Contract/Out-Sourcing employees.
• This Hospital has an average OP (200) per day.
• This Hospital has an average IP (58) per day.
• Under the National AYUSH Mission, the Hospital has been chosen for the establishment of AYUSH wellness centre under which, a Yoga Centre will be established, for which an amount of Rs.6.00 Lakhs has been earmarked.

Government Ayurveda Hospital, Toopran, Medak District is having a total bed strength of (9) Beds. The other details of the Hospital are as follows:
• The Medical staff of the Hospital are (2)
• The Ministerial, Para Medical and other Class IV Staff are (10) who are equally supported by certain Contract/Out-Sourcing employees.
• This Hospital has an average OP (50) per day.
• This Hospital has an average IP (5) per day.
• Under the National AYUSH Mission, the said Hospital has been chosen for up gradation of Stand Alone Hospital for which GOI in principle has agreed for providing a grant for an amount of Rs.75.00 Lakhs.

HOMOEOPATHY

Dharam Kiran Government Homoeo Hospital, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad is having a total bed strength of (80) beds. The following are the other details of the Hospital.
• The Hospital has a capacity of (60) Internees for UG to complete their House surgeon ship.
• (54) PG Students also work in this Hospital for the clinical training.
• The Medical staff of the Hospital are (8)

Under the National AYUSH Mission, the Hospital has been chosen for the establishment of AYUSH wellness centre under which, a Yoga Centre will be established, for which an amount of Rs.6.00 Lakhs has been earmarked. Government Unani Hospital, Hanamkonda, Warangal District is having a total bed strength of (5) Beds. The other details of the Hospital are as follows:

NATURE CURE HOSPITAL

Nature Cure Hospital at Hyderabad was established in the year 1949 it is well known all over the country and it is one of the oldest Institution in this field with (65) years of significant service.

The Nature Cure Hospital Complex is located in an area of about 9.50 acres with a lot of greenery around. Accommodation is provided for the patients in three categories i.e., 1) General Ward (Male-40 & Female-40) 2) Special Ward (Male-24 & Female-24) and 3) Cottages (56 beds).

The total bed strength of the Hospital is 184. Annually about 2500 inpatients are treated at this hospital and bed occupancy is an average 130 ( i.e.74%) patients per day.
