Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who is on a two-day tour to Khammam district announced that 4-5 villages that were merged with AP would be reunited with Telangana.

KCR said that he had discussed the subject with AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who agreed on reuniting the villages. However, it is not clarified whether the villages would be the ones that were key in taking up the Polavaram project. The Chief Minister continued that the villages that will be reunited could look forward to development and added that the Telangana government is prepared to split Khammam district into two along with establishing a mining university in the district.
