Chilli gets good price
The Mirchi yard of agricultural market is filled with thousands of chilli bags since two days here at Khammam. Since Monday, thousands of farmers from the surrounding villages of Khammam town started bringing their Mirchi produce.
Khammam: The Mirchi yard of agricultural market is filled with thousands of chilli bags since two days here at Khammam. Since Monday, thousands of farmers from the surrounding villages of Khammam town started bringing their Mirchi produce.
Nearly 50,000 bags were brought in filling the entire Mirchi yard. Due to lack of sufficient place at the Mirchi yard, the farmers are keeping their produce on the roadside.
Traders were seen competing to purchase the best quality chilli and were also bargaining with the farmers. The price of chillies which was around Rs 12,825 on Monday went up to Rs 13,000 on Tuesday.
Many farmers expressed happiness as they got a good selling price for the chilli. However, some farmers did not sell the produce expecting better price in the coming up days.
