Hyderabad: Several employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited have alleged that Harsha Estates Private Limited has usurped their plots in the name of development and sold them on monthly instalment basis. They demanded the government to order a CBI probe into the issue as more than thousand employees were affected.

Speaking to media persons, the Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TGBKS) said that during 1989 to 1993, about 1,800 SCCL employees had invested in real estate venture under easy instalments scheme marketed and promoted by Nalla Malla Reddy, a real estate businessman, who later started Harsha Estates and Colleges.

The private layout at Divyanagar, Kachwanisingaram village, Ghatkesar mandal was registered by around 1,450 employees. “However, in the meantime, the accused against whom a FIR was also lodged in Medipally police station under various sections for ‘cheating’, ‘criminal breach of trust’ and ‘criminal intimidation’ has grabbed major portion of 41.9 acres of land in the name of development,” alleged M Raj Reddy, the general secretary of TBGKS.
