Hyderabad: Taking cognisance of the negligence of various departments while taking up works like laying of water and sewerage pipelines, underground cables and fibre optic cables, the city traffic police asked all departments to take permission from the local police before starting their work.

Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Jitender said on Tuesday that whenever traffic clearance was given to concerned departments such as HMWSSB and GHMC for commencing work, the latter have failed to take precautionary measures.

We have observed that they are not putting the required signage nor providing the details of executing agency or likely time of completion and thereby causing a lot of inconvenience and endangering the life of the general public,” he said.

The Additional Commissioner specifically informed the bodies once again that they should put barricades, signage, details of executing agency and approximate time for the completion of work and that they should start the work only after intimating the local ACP or the Station House Officer.
