Minister urges people to take up plantation
Stating that lack of awareness on increasing forest cover had led to degrading of forests in the State, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday asked people to wake up and concentrate on planting as many trees as possible.
Hyderabad: Stating that lack of awareness on increasing forest cover had led to degrading of forests in the State, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday asked people to wake up and concentrate on planting as many trees as possible.
The Minister took part in the Haritha Haram programme at Vidyut Soudha here on Tuesday. “The future generation would not spare us if we do not concentrate on tree plantation,” said Jagadish Reddy. He stressed the need for encouraging people to plant tree and this would lead to good results.
“Washing of hand after planting trees would not do. We can see the result only after the sapling grows into a tree,” said Jagadish Reddy. He appreciated the Transco and Genco officials for actively participating in the plantation programme.
