Nizamabad: District Collector Yogitha Rana suspended six mandal level officers and issued show-cause notices to another four officials for failing to turn up even on Wednesday morning for implementing the Haritha Haram program.

Among those suspended were the Deputy Tahsildar of Ranjil mandal along with the assistant engineers of the Rural Water Supply, Irrigation, Roads & Buildings, Public Relations and Electricity departments.

Show-cause notices were issued to the Ranjil MEO, IKP officials and mandal agricultural officer.

Collector Rana expressed anger against those officials who failed to turn up at the gram panchayats by Tuesday night to make the necessary arrangements for implementing Haritha Haram on Wednesday morning.

She made it clear that stringent action would be taken against those officials who were negligent in implementing the Haritha Haram programme.

She made a surprise visit to Bhagepalli village in Renjel mandal of the district on Wednesday and inspected the works relating to the plantation drive.

The District Collector said that it was the responsibility of officials of various sectors to take steps and ensure that 40,000 saplings were planted in each panchayat.

The officials concerned should stay put in each of the gram panchayats for two days and complete works relating to Haritha Haram and nobody was exempted from this work, she added.

Later, the District Collector also interacted with the people of Bhagepalli village and urged them to participate in the Haritha Haram progamme, being funded by the State government.

They should dig rain water harvesting pits and plant saplings, she added. She told them to cultivate orchards, gardens in the premises of each house and also grow plants which give variety of flowers.

She said that the government would supply them plants that were useful to the people.

The District Collector also inspected nurseries in Errannagutta and Ranjil mandals. DWMA project director Venkateshwarlu and others were present on the occasion.
