Haritha Haram catching nation’s attention: Health Minister C Laxma Reddy

Warangal: Haritha Haram programme has been catching the attention of leaders across the nation, said Health Minister C Laxma Reddy.
The Minister was here on Tuesday to take part in Haritha Haram programme at Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Kakatiya Medical College (KMC), MGM Hospital, Regional Eye Hospital and other places.

Tourism Minister A Chandulal, KNRUHS Vice-Chancellor B Karunakar Reddy, GWMC Mayor N Narender, MLAs D Vinay Bhasker and K Surekha, District Collector V Karuna, Joint Collector Prashanth J Patil and DMHO B Sambasiva Rao accompanied the Health Minister.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the Haritha Haram programme initiated by Chief Ministe K Chandrashekar Rao has made Telangana stand ahead of all the states in terms of environmental protection.

Everyone in the society should actively participate in the programme lending their part to improve green cover in Telangana State. The plantation programme would prove to be a blessing for the future generations in the state, the Minister averred.

Mayor Narender speaking on the occasion informed that the Corporation has been making committed efforts for involving the citizens in the plantation programme. There has been a tremendous response from the public to a call given by the Corporation for the ‘mega plantation’ held on Monday.

In a single day 2.58 lakh saplings were planted across 58 divisions in the city, the Mayor added.Warangal (West) MLA Vinay Bhasker said that in his constituency it was planned to hold a massive plantation programme at Padmakshi Temple premises in Hanamkonda with involving thousands of people on the concluding day of Haritha Haram.

Later on the day, Minister Laxma Reddy held a meeting at Eturunagaram to review the measures needed to prevent spread of on viral fevers in agency areas. He asked the doctors to be available at their respective hospitals and monitor the situation closely.

Speaking to press persons, he said the capacity of Eturunagaram government hospital would be upgraded to 50 beds and would be made a model hospital. An operation theatre would be set up at the hospital besides appointing gynaecologist and anaesthetist.

Referring to the rumours on TS EAMCET-II (medical) paper leakage, Laxma Reddy said news reports appeared in a section of media were false. However, a committee would be set up to probe into the issue, he added.
