​Warangal: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will soon lay the foundation stone for Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), informed Health Minister C Laxma Reddy.

He said the existing Warangal Central Prison beside Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) would be shifted to Mamnoor on the city outskirts, to get access to the available 70 acres of land.

On 35 acres land MGM Super Specialty Hospital would be built and the university building would come up on the remaining land.

The Minister chaired a meeting with health and district officials to review measures to prevent seasonal diseases, vacant posts and the proposed development activities.

Later speaking to press persons, he said the government has proposed to convert the existing structure of MGM Hospital into a Mother and Childcare Centre.

Laxma Reddy along with District Collector V Karuna, KNRUHS Vice-Chancellor B Karunakar Reddy, DM&HO B Sambasiva Rao and others inspected the KMC and Central Prison premises.

He held discussions with officials on proposed university buildings plan and others.

Entire health department would be restructured and area hospitals, sub-centres and PHCs would be developed, the Minister said. He later took part in Haritha Haram programme at various places.
