A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice U Durga Prasad Rao on Tuesday ordered notice to M Ranjith and 10 other advocates of Warangal in a suo moto contempt case. Two more advocates from Ranga Reddy district were also given notices.

​Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice U Durga Prasad Rao on Tuesday ordered notice to M Ranjith and 10 other advocates of Warangal in a suo moto contempt case. Two more advocates from Ranga Reddy district were also given notices.

The bench acted on a report sent by the District Judge, Warangal. The advocates were accused of having obstructed the working of the court and committed acts of misconduct by disrupting court proceedings.

It was alleged that they had thrown chairs at the bench, manhandled the Presiding Officer and forced him to discontinue court proceedings and thereby interfered with administration of justice. It was further alleged that they had damaged the court property.
